PURPOSE: To provide the subject resin excellent in dyeability, coatability and adhesivity, and useful for adhesives, tackifiers, etc., by reacting a PP resin with a dienic copolymer and a specific modifying agent in specified amounts, respectively.
CONSTITUTION: The objective resin is obtained by reacting (A) 90-10 pts.wt. of a PP resin with (B) 10-90 pts.wt. of a dienic copolymer and (C) 0.1-30 pts.wt. of a modifying agent of formula I (Ar is a 6-23C aromatic hydrocarbon group having a glycidyl group; R is H, methyl) in the presence of (D) 0.01-5 pts. wt. of a radical initiator such as methylethylketone peroxide or 1,1-bis(t- butylperoxy)-3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexane. In this resin, the component A, the component B and the component C are preferably a PP resin containing propylene units in an amount of ≥60%, a dienic copolymer in which the repeating units of the diene are cyclopentadienes,1,3-cyclohexadienes,1,4- cyclohexadienes or methlnorbornenes, and a modifying agent of formula II, respectively.
