Abstract:
PURPOSE:To deal with speech mail box communication which is low in emergency by connecting speech mail box stations to a packet switching network. CONSTITUTION:The packet switching network 3 is accessed to perform transfer between speech mail box stations VMX-X and VMX-Y which accommodate contracted subscribers in areas X and Y of a telephone switching network 2. A speech mail call from a subscriber A in the area X to a mail box contractor D in the area Y is accepted by the station VMX-X and composed into a speech packet, which is transferred to the station VMX-Y by accessing the packet network. The station VMX-Y stores speech mail data in a main box XD and waits for a contractor D to read it. The contractor D sends a speech mail readout call to the station VMX-Y through the telephone switching network in the area Y so as to reads the mail address to the D, thereby reading the speech mail in the box XD of the contractor D.
