Title:
NONAQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE BATTERY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0547416
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enhance a preserving characteristic by adding a specific transition metal complex into a nonaqueous electrolyte.

CONSTITUTION: A lithium rolled plate is punched, thus obtaining a negative electrode 1 made of lithium metal, which is press-fitted to a negative electrode current collector 3 fixed to the inner bottom of a negative can 2 of SUS 430, having a U-shaped cross section. A conducting agent and a binding agent are mixed under pressure into heat-treated manganese dioxide, followed by further heat treatment, thereby obtaining a positive electrode 4, which is press-fitted to a positive electrode current collector 6 secured to the inner bottom of a stainless positive electrode can 5. The circumferential end of the can 2 is fixed inside an insulating packing 7, to the outer periphery of which the can 5 is secured in the direction opposite to the can 2. A solute of trifluoromethane lithium sulfonate is dissolved at 1mol/l in a mixture solvent of ethylene carbonate, propylene carbonate and dimethoxyethane, thus obtaining a basic electrolyte. An electrolyte added with a transition metal complex of a porphyrine derivative is impregnated in a separator 8. Consequently, it is possible to enhance a preserving characteristic of a battery and an electric charge/discharge cycle characteristic.
