Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for thermally molding a sheet which can easily mold an uneven shape of or corrugate the bottom or side of a product with a uniform thickness of the product without partial irregular thickness.
SOLUTION: A sheet 1 is conveyed between a cavity mold 2 and a core mold 3 by a sheet clamping unit. Then, the sheet 1 is mounted on the mold 3. Thereafter, the mold 2 starts pressing the sheet 1. At this time, the peripheries of the four corners of the sheet 1 are waved (wrinkles). When the mold 2 is further dropped in this state, a retaining plate 5 starts dropping. Then, pressure molding is conducted. At this time, the sheet 1 is clamped from above a core mold side retaining plate 4 and below a cavity mold side retaining plate 5 while holding a predetermined clearance, and at the time of molding, the sheet 1 is drawn into the mold while sliding from the plates 4, 5 in the state applied by a predetermined applied pressure, and hence the sheet 1 can be molded while preventing the wrinkle without elongating the sheet l.
