Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cryptographically easily generate a high-safety pseudo random number.
SOLUTION: The pseudo random number generation circuit 101, a register 205 fetches and holds state data composed of plural bits synchronously with the respective clock pulses of a clock signal CLK and function generating circuits 2021 and 2022 respectively output data composed of plural bits corresponding to the state data held in the register 205. Then, a selector 203 selects the specified bit between two pieces of data respectively outputted from these function generating circuits based on a pseudo random number Xi-1 generated by the pseudo random number generating circuit of the preceding step and outputs it as a pseudo random number Xi. On the other hand, a selector 206 selects the data, from which the specified bit is excluded, between two pieces of data respectively outputted from the function generating circuits based on the pseudo random number Xi-1 generated by the pseudo random number generating circuit of the preceding step and supplies them to the register 205 as state data.
