Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a process for producing hydroxygallium phthalocyanine which has evenness of static properties and of dark decay and has stable electrophotographic properties.

CONSTITUTION: A gallium trihalide is reacted with phthalonitrile or diiminoisoindoline in a halogenated aromatic hydrocarbon. The obtained chlorogallium phthalocyanine is treated with an amide solvent and then hydrolyzed to produce the desired crystal.
