PURPOSE: To perform a sterilization and carbonization for the inner surface of a wooden barrel effectively, and make the reclaiming of wooden barrels easier by a method wherein a large number of heated metallic or ceramic fine bodies are input in a wooden barrel from an opening of the wooden barrel, and the wooden barrel is shaken and rotated.

CONSTITUTION: When a reclaiming process of a wooden barrel 80 is performed, the wooden barrel 80 is clamped by a pair of holding plates from both sides first, and then a barrel rotating motor is operated, and the barrel 80 is stopped when an opening of the barrel 80 reaches just above. Then, the input port of a hopper 12 is adjusted to the opening of the barrel, and heated balls are input in the barrel 80 by opening the shutter of the hopper 12, and the shutter is closed when a meter detects a specified weight. To the hopper 12, a quantity of heated balls which is equivalent to the input quantity is replenished from a ball heating unit 11. After the filling of the heated balls to the barrel 80, the opening is closed, and the barrel 80 is shaken by rotating the barrel 80 by the operation of a barrel shaking/rotating unit 13. By doing this, the heated balls are shaken in the barrel 80 so that the inner surface of the barrel 80 may be thoroughly sterilized and carbonized.
