Abstract:

PURPOSE: To drive accurately a thin film transistor matrix array (TFT array) corresponding to an input video signal by sending a prescribed analog video signal to a prescribed picture element with simple configuration with respect to the display of high resolution in which the number of picture elements of one line is increased.
CONSTITUTION: A digital video signal SVd comprising n-bit picture element data is stored sequentially to a shift register circuit 12 one by one line each and the digital video signal SVd by one line stored in the shift register circuit 12 is fed to a latch circuit 13, in which the signal is latched for one horizontal period. Each of picture element data in n-bits being the digital video signal SVd by one line outputted from the latch circuit 13 are compared with output data from an n-adic counter at a digital comparator circuit 14 and a coincident pulse is generated at a point of time of coincidence for each of picture element data. An analog ramp waveform between a white level and a black level is sampled in the generating timing of the coincidence pulse and fed to a TFT array signal line used to drive a liquid crystal display device.
