PURPOSE: To enable the carrying speed of a work to be altered while the drive portion of, what is called, a two dimensional work carrying means is being left as is, and also enable the work to be moved to the vertical and rotating directions.

CONSTITUTION: A hold member 31 holding a work W is installed onto a first support member 23 in such a way as to be relatively carried, and freely moved while being relatively rotated. Since the first support member 23 is in contact with a first cam 27 to be set on a base plate 25, the first support member is moved up and down according to the rise and fall of the cam when it is moved to the carrying direction. Beside, the hold member 31 is so designed as to be relatively moved in the carrying and rotational directions with respect to the first support member 23, and the amounts of relative movement in the carrying and rotational directions can independently be set up by means of a second cam 51 and a third cam 55 which are set in a plate 43 interlocked with the first support member 23 only in the vertical direction. Therefore, the hold member 31 can relatively be moved in the vertical, carrying and rotational directions with respect to a gripper rail 11.
