PURPOSE: To extract a target at high accuracy and in real time by estimating a clutter signal distribution from a two-dimensional histogram of a radar signal.

CONSTITUTION: This radar signal processing method and apparatus so arranged to obtain a two-dimensional histogram 11a of a radar signal 2 while a clutter signal distribution of clutters is estimated from the two-dimensional histogram 11a to generate a clutter removal function 13a from the clutter signal distribution in a method and apparatus for radar signal processing in which a target signal 12a is extracted from a radar signal 2. The clutter signal distribution is removed in real time from the clutter removal function 13a thereby extracting the target signal 12a.
