Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a rotary body for mixing molten metal, which is made of ceramics and excellent in resistance to adhesion of molten aluminum while eliminating cracking due to thermal stress.

CONSTITUTION: A mixing disc 4 made of ceramics is fixed to a hollow tubular shaft 2, and an inert gas blowing opening 3 is projected tubularly from the lower side of the mixing disc. The mixing disc is made of silicon nitride or sialon while MgO treatment is applied to the surface thereof.
