Abstract:
PURPOSE:To continuously purify large amounts of metal by transferring a metallic slurry into tube furnaces maintained at the prescribed temps., respectively, and sucking liquid phases in which impurity elements in the slurry are concentrated via porous bodies located in the bottoms of the furnaces, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A molten Al-Mg alloy, etc., are cooled down to a temp. in the vicinity of the liquidus temp., and continuously supplied into a heating furnace 1 and agitated by means of agitation rods 2 so as to be formed into a metallic slurry 8. This metallic slurry 8 is transferred into a first tube furnace 3 held at the prescribed temp. by turning a screw 4. Subsequently, a liquid-phase part 23 in which impurity elements in the metallic slurry 8 are concentrated is sucked and separated via a porous body 5 disposed in the bottom of the furnace 3 into a downward vessel 6. Remaining solid grains are transferred into a second heating furnace 11 to undergo heating add agitation so as to be formed into a metallic slurry 18. This metallic slurry 18 is transferred into a second tube furnace 13 held at the prescribed temp., and a liquid-phase part 33 is sucked and separated via the porous body 5.
