Abstract:
PURPOSE: To make an end manipulating means provided at the tip of the medical instrument rotatable or fixable as needed.
CONSTITUTION: The medical instrument is provided with the end manipulating means and a driving device to operate the means. The driving device is rotatable against the end manipulating means. The instrument is equipped with an outside tube 20 connected to the end manipulating means through a U-shaped link, and a push rod 60 passing through the tube 20 to couple with the end manipulating means. The driving device is coupled with the outside tube 20 and the push rod 60, and gives reciprocal movement to the push rod 60 relative to the tube 20. The driving device has a handle 85 and a lever arm 75. The outside tube 20 has multiple dents 145 circumferentially placed with an interval. The handle 85 has a contact element 150 with nonuniform elasticity. When the contact element 150 sits on the dent 145, the outside tube 20 can not rotate around the longitudinal axis. The fixing of the contact element 150 is released by a sufficient turning force.
