PURPOSE: To provide a recessing spindle where the recessing action is sure and the spindle design and maintenance are easy.

CONSTITUTION: A recessing spindle is provided with a swaying spindle 5 having a recessing tool 4 which is eccentrically inserted into a circular hole 2 to be machined of a work 1 on the tip in a concentrical manner, a rotary spindle 6 which is eccentrically inserted thereinto, a slide spindle 7 to be inserted and fitted to a rear end part 5' of the swaying spindle 5 projecting from the rear end of the rotary spindle 6, and a cylinder 10 to move the slide spindle in the axial direction. A connecting pin 8 which is projectingly provided on the rear end part of the swaying spindle 5 is slidably inserted and fitted to a lead groove which is formed spirally in the circumferential direction, and when the slide spindle 7 is advanced, the connecting pin 8 is slid through the lead groove 9 to allow the swaying spindle 5 to be rotated, and a cutting tool 3 of the recessing tool 4 is abutted on the hole 2 to be machined.
