Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a rubber composition rapid in curing rate, excellent in compressive strain characteristics and scorch stability, comprising a rubber component curable by organic peroxide, an organic peroxide and a specified amount of a quinone compound.
CONSTITUTION: The objective rubber composition comprising (A) a rubber component curable by an organic peroxide such as di-t-butyl peroxide (e.g. natural rubber), (B) an organic peroxide and (C) 0.01-1.3mol, per mol of the component B, of a quinone compound of the formula (R1 and R2 are each H, 1-8C alkyl or phenyl) (e.g. p-benzoquinone).
