PURPOSE: To provide the facsimile equipment which reduces reception error when a signal from the abroad is received.
CONSTITUTION: The facsimile equipment is provided with two MODEM 1 and 2. Further, a MODEM selection part 12 is provided. When the signal from the abroad is received, it is discriminated, from a country code contained in the beginning of that signal, which country communicates the signal. Then, the relation of the transmitting country and the MODEM to be used is read from a memory 13. Corresponding to read contents, the MODEM selection part 12 selects either the MODEM 1 or the MODEM 2. Then, received data transmitted later are demodulated by the selected MODEM 1 or 2. The received data contains the various kinds of reception error factors. However, the MO DEM 1 or 2 resistant to those reception error factors is selectively used. Thus, the generation of reception error is reduced.
