PURPOSE: To manufacture a partitioned rectangular cell made from a hard glass or the like by optically welding the side all of a cell of the same type having parallel side walls and curved planes at four corners with a bottom plate obtained after cutting the bottom excluding curved planes and the circulation part under the partition plane.
CONSTITUTION: The manufacture of the cell of a hard glass consisting mainly of silicon dioxide is carried out as follows: placing a glass pipe fitting a jig in a heating furnace, heating it up to a softening temperature or higher to soften, and deforming it by bringing it into close contact with the jig's outer face; cooling it and pulling out the jig to mold an intermediate cell; parallelly shaving off the wall 1' of two parallel walls 1, 1' of this cell to adjust to a necessary thickness; laminating two intermediate cells with a face cut off each by means of optical welding; cutting a bottom 6 with curved planes left and cutting down its hatch part under the partition late; and subjecting it to optical welding to laminate the bottom plate to complete a partitioned cell.
