Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the tracking accuracy by tracking narrow band signals without being influenced by noises.
CONSTITUTION: A narrow band signal S1 from an unknown target 1 is received by an acoustic array sensor 2 with a plurality of receiving beams directed in slightly different azimuths. A signal intensity distribution S3-i on the frequency space of the receiving signal with the receiving beam Bi is obtained every sampling time, which is stored by a memory device 4-i. A part in the vicinity of a sampling frequency is taken out by a neural network 5 according to a calculation of the time × signal intensity distribution on the frequency space, thereby deciding whether a linear or curved pattern by the narrow band signal from the unknown target 1 is present. The frequency and azimuth of the narrow band signal are tracked by a target-managing device 6. The accurately measured azimuth and accurately measured frequency of the target 1 are detected by a peak detector 7.
