Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the method for sintering stainless steel powder by which the formation of Si oxides is prevented and its fatigue strength can be improved.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of subjecting the stainless steel powder 1 manufactured by a water atomizing method to compacting and sintering, before this sintering, reducing treatment of removing an oxidized film 2 on the surface of the stainless steel powder 1 is executed. Moreover, this reducing treatment is executed in a high purity hydrogen atmosphere at 300 to 600°C.
