Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prepare an isocyanate or isocyanate mixture substantially free from any coloring component and to use it for preparation of light colored polyurethane rigid foam.
CONSTITUTION: An isocyanate is treated with hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst under a pressure of about 3-150 bars at a temp. of about 10-180°C for about 15 minutes to about 4 hours, to obtain an isocyanate or isocyanate mixture substantially free from any coloring component. The isocyanate is useful particularly for preparation of light colored polyurethane rigid foam.
