PURPOSE: To improve the reliability of a structure as well as to improve the safety of a passenger by providing a groove in a guide frame and by fixing the upper edge of a glass panel with fixed intervals in the length direction of the guide frame by filling a first adhesive.

CONSTITUTION: There is placed a banister 7 comprising a guide 4 for guiding a handrail 3 having a nearly C-like configuration in cross section, a guide frame 5, and a glass panel 6B, etc. The guide frame 5 is split and placed in the range of a nearly semicircular part, the range of a linear or curved part, etc. And the long-ranged glass panel 6B is stuck to the guide frame 5 by filling a first adhesive M between the inner surface of a groove 5A provided in the guide frame 5 and opened downwards and the three upper edge faces of the glass panel 6B in a fixed section. Thus, jointing strength required between the glass panel 6B and the guide frame 5 is guaranteed by the first adhesive M.
