PURPOSE: To attain natural scene transfer by storing an image and a sound for the end part of a preceding scene in a picture memory and a sound memory at the time of edition, reading out the stored data at the starting part of the succeeding scene and superposing the read contents to the image and sound of the succeeding scene.
CONSTITUTION: Scenes consisting of an image A, a sound A, an image B, and a sound B are connectively recorded in a video tape with intervals. The video tape is reproduced by a reproducing VTR 1 and the reproduced contents are connectively edited. Namely the image A and the sound A are reproduced by the VTR 1 at first and recorded in a recording VTR 2 through gain control parts 35, 36. When operation information is inputted from a switch part 33 at the end point of the image A, the final scene of the image A is stored in a frame memory 30. On the other hand, a memory 31 records the sound signal A reproduced from the VTR 1. The VTR 1 is driven, and at the start point of the scene of the image B, the image A is reproduced from the memory 30 and superposed to the image B by an adding part 38. While reproducing the sound A from the memory 31, the reproduced sound A is superposed to the sound B by an adding part 39.
