Abstract:
PURPOSE: To automate operation of severing a strap into the leading portion out of order and the trailing portion, ejecting the leading portion out of the apparatus and feeding the trailing portion to a binding unit when normal binding is impossible in such cases that the leading portion of a strap fed to the binding unit is clogged.
CONSTITUTION: A mechanism 10 cooperates with a dispensing unit D, binding unit M, sensor 20 and programmable control unit P. When the sensor 20 does not detect that the leading portion E of a strap S reaches the predetermined location within the predetermined time due to a defect, a die 60 moves through a solenoid 130 and large lever 120, and both cutting blades equipped on an anvil 40 and the die 60 cut off the leading portion of the strap. The leading portion severed is ejected out of the mechanism 10 by pull-in rollers 16 and 18, a driving roller 160 and an idle roller 162. The trailing strap retained with a gripper is pinched by the driving roller 160 and an idle roller 164 and sent to the binding unit M.
