Abstract:
PURPOSE: To effectively use a fluidized bed boiler ash as a agglomerating material to improve the handling of a clayey soil.
CONSTITUTION: The fluidized bed boiler ash is classified into coarse grains and fine powder and the coarse grains are recovered as the agglomerating material for the clayey soil. Then, the coarse grains to the surface of which CaSO4 is stuck and containing much CaO are recovered by classifying the fluidized bed ash. Since the clay mainly contains Ai2O3 and SiO2, it is solidified by the pozzolanic reaction (C-H-S forming reaction) by adding CaO and the clay is solidified by adding CaO and CaSO4 to form ettringite.
