PURPOSE: To obtain a mulch cutting apparatus of a transplanter for opening a transplantation hole by cutting a mulch film covering the levee of a field with high-pressure fluid jet prior to the transplantation of a pot seedling.

CONSTITUTION: A high-pressure fluid jet is ejected from a fluid ejection part (a) against a mulch film (f) to open a transplantation hole (h) on the film. The fluid ejection part (a) of the mulch cutting apparatus of a transplanter is provided with a pair of ejection nozzles 32,32 continuously ejecting fluid jet during the transplantation work and a shielding member 33 to intermittently shield the fluid jet ejected from the ejection nozzles 32,32. A mulch film pressing tool 34 is rotatably attached to the fluid ejection part (a) and the ejection nozzles 32,32 are made to be freely swingable. A part of the mulch film is cut in U-shape with the high-pressure fluid jet ejected from the ejection nozzles 32,32 and the U-shaped cut film piece (f1) is pressed with a film-pressing tool 34 slantly downward into soil toward the connecting part (f2) of the film piece (f1).
