PURPOSE: To provide a bay shore stevedoring method by which the loading and unloading of freight to a shore-contacting freighter can be conducted as fast and efficiently as possible and making the most of the advantage of a high speed freighter is realized effectively.

CONSTITUTION: In the case of this method, a drawing-in water passage 2 to draw in a freighter 1; a freight handing yard 3 provided at a position higher than that of the drawing-in water passage 2 are equipped, and the deck of the freighter 1 and the freight handling yard 3 are submerged under the sea surface, and unloading containers 7 mounted on the deck and loading containers 6 mounted on the freight handling yard 3 are floated respectively on the sea. Next, the unloading containers 7 and the loading containers 6 are towed to the freight handling yard 3 and the deck of the freighter 1, respectively, and next, the deck of the freighter 1 is floated up on the sea, and the freight handling yard 3 is drained.
