To provide a new naphthalene compound exhibiting HIV-inhibiting activities and its pharmaceutical use, more specifically an HIV-inhibiting agent comprising a compound having a naphthalene structure, its pharmaceutically acceptable salts, or their hydrates or solvates.
The naphthalene compound is represented by general formula (1) [wherein R1 is a hydrogen atom, a 1-6C alkyl group or the like; R2 and R3 are each a hydrogen atom, a 1-6C alkoxy group, a halogen atom or the like; X is -S- or -O-; Y is -C(R4)(R5)-, -C(R4)(R5)-CH2- or -CH2-C(R4)(R5)- (wherein R4 and R5 are the same or different and are each a hydrogen atom, a 1-6C alkyl group or the like); and Z is -N(R31)- (wherein R31 is a hydrogen atom, a 1-6C alkyl group or the like)]. The pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, and their hydrates and solvates are also provided.
