PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a naphthol red having excellent dispersibility and coloring by controlling the particle shape, and to provide a resin composition, an aqueous dispersion and a solvent dispersion that are colored with the naphthol red, and a manufacturing method.SOLUTION: A naphthol red includes primary particles having an axial ratio (average major axis diameter/average minor axis diameter) of 1.0-2.0. Also provided are a resin composition, an aqueous dispersion and a solvent dispersion that contain the naphthol red, and a manufacturing method.SELECTED DRAWING: None
