To provide a new naphthoquinone compound that can provide high-sensitivity electrophotographic photoreceptor and an electrophotographic photoreceptor that has excellent sensitivity behavior of the electrophotographic photoreceptor, high durability of photosensitive layer and high solvent resistance.
This naphthoquinone compound is represented by general formula (1) (wherein R1 is an aryl or the like, R2 is a 1-6C alkylene or the like, X is an imide, for example, phthalimides or the like). The electrophotographic photoreceptor according to this invention characteristically has a photosensitive layer that includes a charge production agent, a naphthoquinone compound shown by general formula (1) and a binder resin on an electrically conductive substrate.
