Title:
NAPHTHOQUINONE DERIVATIVE AND ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC PHOTORECEPTOR USING SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3260728
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron transferring agent having good compatibility with a bonding resin and excellent also in matching with an electric charge generating agent by using a specified naphthoquinone derivative.
SOLUTION: A naphthoquinone derivative of the formula is used as an electron transferring agent. In the formula, R1 and R2 are the same or different hydrogen atom and each H or 1-6C alkyl. The naphthoquinone derivative is excellent in electron acceptability, has good compatibility with a bonding resin and is uniformly dispersed in a photosensitive layer. Since the naphthoquinone derivative is excellent in matching with an electric charge generating agent, the injection of electrons from the electric charge generating agent is smoothly carried out. The naphthoquinone derivative exhibits superior electron transferring ability even in a low electric field and is suitable for use as an electron transferring agent. Since the naphthoquinone derivative does not form a charge- transfer complex together with a hole transferring agent, it is appropriately used in a monolayer type photosensitive layer in which an electron transferring agent and a hole transferring agent are used in combination.
