To obtain a napped woven fabric capable of having long napped fibers both in warps and in wefts and excellent in texture by using prescribed hard twisted yarns as twisted warps, etc., weaving the yarns in a prescribed cover factor range, subjecting the woven fabric to a napping treatment, and subsequently inverting the napped fibers on the other side surface.
This napped woven fabric is obtained by using hard twisted yarns twisted so as to satisfy a twist coefficient K of 5000-30000 as either of twisted warps and twisted wefts, weaving the warps and the wefts so as to satisfy a cover factor CF of 1500-3000, applying a napping treatment to one side surface of the woven fabric before a treatment for expressing the untwisting torque of the twisted yarns, and subsequently treating the processed woven fabric at a temperature of ≤100°C to invert the napped fibers to the other side surface. The twist coefficient K is defined by equation I [K is a twist coefficient; N is a twist number per meter (T/M); TD is the total denier of the yarn]. The cover factor CF is defined by equation II [CF is a cover factor; FM is a weft density (weft number/in); WM is a warp density (warp number/in); FTD is the total denier of the warps; WTD is the total denier of the wefts].
