To stably and highly reliably maintain a respiration assisting operation in response to the spontaneous respiration of a premature baby and to lower pulmonary pressure fluctuation to an appropriate range.
The nasal CPAP element 1 comprises: a jet nozzle 3; jet branching plates 5 (5a, 5b) extended in the flowing direction of an air jet at such a position that the distal end faces the air jet of the nozzle 3 with a jet path 4 there between, for dividing the air jet into first and second jets; a first branching path 7 into which the first jet flows and a cavity 9 continued to it; a second branching path 8 into which the second jet flows and an exhaust port 13 continued to it; and nasal cavity prong ports 10 and 11 continued to the cavity 9, to which a nasal cavity prongs 12 are connected. In the nasal CPAP element 1, the cavity 9 is provided with an HFOV port 25. Further, a bypass 6 is provided as well.
