Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower the oveall height and smooth operation.
SOLUTION: When a closing cylinder 23 is contracted from a mold open state shown in a left half of the drawing, stoppers 19a, 19b, 20a, 20b being released from a lower groove 3b of a tie bar 3, and a mold opening and closing cylinder 15 being extended, a movable platen 12 is lowered and parting surfaces of molds 30a, 30b are brought into contact with each other. In this state, the closing cylinder 23 is extended and the stoppers 19a, 19b, 20a, 20b are brought into engagement with an upper groove 3a of the tie bar 3 to thereby fix the tie bar as shown in a right half of the drawing. Thereafter, when a working fluid is supplied into a lower chamber of a closing cylinder 13, the movable platen 12 is pressed downwardly to close the molds. There is nothing above the movable platen 12, and therefore this reduces the overall height thereof. When the movable platen 12 is flucturated, since the tie bar 3 is guided with a great guide width by a shaft hole 2a of a fixed platen 2 and a guide hole 1b of an upper frame, smooth fluctuating movements can be provided.
