Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device and a server device, realizing reduction of a communication time and a communication cost.
SOLUTION: When a map information storage part 25 stores continuous map information from a departure point to a destination, the navigation device 10 transmits the preparation date of the map information to the server device, receives only updated map information and stores the map information into the map information storage part 25, and executes route search by use of the stored map information. When the map information storage part 25 does not store the continuous map information from the departure point to the destination, the navigation device 10 transmits the map information about the departure point and the destination to the server device, and acquires the map information having the new preparation date between the map information not stored in the map information storage part 25 and the map information stored in the map information storage part 25, which are the map information on the route searched by the server device.
