Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the vehicle navigation device which makes an easy-to-see screen display by selecting and displaying traffic information regarding the road where the vehicle currently travels on a map.
CONSTITUTION: This navigation device is equipped with a road traffic information input means 102 which inputs road traffic information including information on at least traffic congestion, road constructions, and traffic control, a road detecting means 103 which detects the road where the vehicle currently travels according to the current position of the vehicle detected by a current position detecting means 100 and road map data stored in a map storage means 101, an information extracting means 104 which extracts road traffic information regarding the current travel road detected by the road detecting means 103 from the road traffic information inputted from the road traffic information input means 102, and a display means 105 which reads road map data on the periphery of the current position of the vehicle out of the map storage means 101 and makes the display while making the road traffic information extracted by the information extracting means 104 correspond to the road map data.
