Title:
NAVIGATION DEVICE FOR VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3196521
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable a navigation device for vehicle to accurately discriminate that its own vehicle has passed through a pointed place by adding at least a prescribed value to the shortest distance when the distance found by means of a distance calculating means becomes the nearest to the pointed place.
CONSTITUTION: A location section 22 detects the absolute location of its own vehicle based on the data supplied from a sensor section 10 and compares the absolute location with the map data supplied from a map data storing section 14. The section 22 is connected with a calculating section 24 and supplies the present location data to the section 24. The section 24 always calculates the distance Xn from the present location to a pointed place and discriminates whether the distance Xn is 1.0km. When, for example, the distance Xn is 1.0km, the section 24 discriminates that an IG (ignition switch) is 'OFF' and, when the 'OFF' state of the IG continues more than 30 minutes, discriminates that the vehicle has passed through the point.
