The picture 11 displays a route guide 17 in an arrow against a road 13 which crosses at an intersection 12, a road to proceed 14 and other roads 15 and 16 and a building 18, which correspond to the landmark extracted from a map database 2, is stereoscopically displayed. Moreover, an imaginary building 19 which does not exist in the database 2 is displayed in a different display style from the building 18 which corresponds to the landmark so that the city environment being seen by the driver is more closely approximated.
