A local operating unit 5 performs various operation in a gyro compass 1 locally (at hand) and is composed of an operation control part 6, a display 7, an operating part 8 and a power switch 9. The operation control part 6 controls each part of the gyro compass 1. A remote operating unit 15 performs remote operation (gyro operation and the like) to the gyro compass 1, a sound wave log, an electromagnetic log, an anemoscope, a propeller and a steering gear. A local mode and a remote mode can be switched when an operator presses a touch panel on the surface of a display of the remote operating unit.
