The navigation system for a vehicle is composed of: a navigation device comprising the present position detection means (2) for detecting the present position of a car, a memory means (3) for storing the history of the engine OFF spots detected by the present position detection means, a control means (5) for reading and outputting the history data of the engine OFF spots stored in the memory means, and a transmission means (6) for transmitting the history data outputted from the control means; and a server (10) equipped with a statistical process means (12) for receiving and statistical processing the history data transmitted from the navigation device for each car. Wherein, the server creates and provides spot searching data by statistically processing a facility having a parking lot data among the received history data while regarding the extent of the parking lot as a spot.
