Abstract:

To provide a navigation system which can report useful road information for supporting safety driving of a driver.

The navigation system classifies and stores attention call points requiring attention during the driving and the contents or the timing of the attention call corresponding to the attention call points, for each driving skill of the driver, sets the driving skill of the driver, judges whether to report the prescribed contents of the attention call corresponding to the attention call point, according to the contents of the driving skill when it is determined that the distance between the prescribed attention call point and the vehicle approaches within a prescribed distance, from the detection of the current position of the vehicle and map data, and reports the prescribed contents of the attention call when it is determined that it is the point to be reported. Accordingly, the attention call point on the guidance route of the vehicle is reported, according to the driving skill of the driver, and the safety driving of the driver is supported.
