Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system in which operability can be enhanced while shortening the operating time.
SOLUTION: When a position on a touch panel 8 is pointed by the end of a pen remote control unit 4 under a state where a map image is displayed on a display 7, an operation control section 42 calculates the pointed position, a coordinate calculating section 44 calculates the corresponding absolute longitude and latitude on the map and a transmitting section 46 transmits a positional data including the absolute longitude and latitude toward the remote control unit 4. The remote control unit 4 receives the positional data and stores it internally. When the stored positional data is transmitted from the remote control unit 4 to a navigation controller, a route searching section 34 begins to search for a route to a target determined by positional data.
