Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a navigation system whose controllability can be enhanced by reducing the burden of complex operations.

CONSTITUTION: This navigation system comprises a GPS receiver 1 which receives radio waves from GPS satellites to calculate position information; a command input device 2 which feeds selected function information (command) signals to the navigation system according to operations; an optical disc reproducing part 4 whereby information near the position information from the GPS receiver 1 is reproduced and read from an optical disc 3; a signal processing part 5 for performing signal processing; and a display part 6 which displays output signals from the signal processing part 5 on a screen. The command input device 2 is fitted with a user button to which function registering is allocated.
