PURPOSE: To enhance the critical density of an NbTi superconducting wire by disposing a filament material in a void provided inside a stabilizing material, the filament material being obtained by alloying of superconducting material powders and ceramics powders.
CONSTITUTION: Powders of a superconducting material, and ceramics powders 4 selected from a metal oxide, a metal nitride and a metal carbide, are alloyed using a mechanical alloying method that repeats mechanical folding and rolling and until the particle size of the ceramics powders is reduced to 0.1μm or less, to obtain a filament material 3 wherein the ceramics particles are dispersed at an interval of 10 to 100nm. Next, the filament material 3 is disposed in a void provided within a stabilizing material 2.
