PURPOSE: To improve machining efficiency by operating the feed speed of a machining device at the corner part of a workpiece on the basis of a fine block set at the front and rear parts of the corner, and editing and converting a program into a new program.
CONSTITUTION: An NC program conversion and preparation device 3 reads out an NC program loaded via an external input machine 5 with an NC program read part 31 and a fine block division setting part 32 sets a block division point off the front and rear parts of each corner of a workpiece in the shift instruction block of a machining device contained in the program. On the basis the fine block so divided, an operation part 33 operates the feed speed of the machining device at the corner part and a new program incorporating the fine block and the feed speed is prepared with an edition and conversion part 34 and outputted to an external input machine 5'. According to the aforesaid construction, it becomes possible to improve machining efficiency at other areas than the vicinity of the corner part without any drop in feed speed and to prevent the occurrence of an irregularity on the surface of a workpiece.
