Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enlarge moment of inertia round the axis by a little reducing the weight of the tip of a head and the heel part by connecting a structure of supporting an impact surface by use of a light-weighted and hard neck and a grip structure of sport goods to be vertical to the swing surface passing the center of gravity of the sport goods. CONSTITUTION: A neck 25 has a longitudinal shaft extended from a head toward a grip, and is formed by a piece of metallic material having a rectangular section. The neck has the base end 26 of a portion connected to a heel 13 of a club head, which is parallel to the plane and has a corresponding width. An effective joint line is parallel to an arc of a swing, and the front and rear side edges 30, 31 of the neck are tapered upward from the base end 26 to the shaft end 27. A ferrule or a sleeve 33 can be fixed to the shaft end 27, and a golf club shaft or a grip 34 can be fixed to the ferrule or the sleeve 33. The neck 25 has an opening or a hole 35 for reducing the weight extending over the whole, and the front and rear side edge parts adjacent to the side edge surfaces 30, 31 are connected to each other to give rigidity.
