PURPOSE: To provide the subject loom comprising a frame; a needle beam; and a guide system with a guide means fixedly supported by the frame and needle beam at one ends, and a guide post arranged in a sliding bearing and slidingly supported by a sliding bushing, which is pivotally supported by the other ends of the frame and needle beam, to absorb a lateral thrust.

CONSTITUTION: This loom guides reciprocating motion of a needle beam 82 with a plurality of needles 84 relative to a frame 174 by a guide post 172 slidingly supported by a sliding bushing 170, which is pivotally supported by the ends of the frame 174 and needle beam 82. The sliding bushing 170 has a sliding housing 180 and sliding bearing 192 with elastic means 202 and 204 therein, and holds the guide post 172 in the bearing 192. This design absorbs a lateral thrust, generated while a web is needling as a result of bending of the needle beam 82, because the elastic means 202 and 204 allow movement of the sliding bearing 192 in the sliding housing 180.
