PURPOSE: To ensure a plurality of needle threads to be locked with the resting machine heads, when embroidering is operated with a plurality of machine heads.

CONSTITUTION: In a multi-head type embroidering machine where the machine head 10 having a plurality of couples of needle bars equipped with sewing needles 16 through which needle threads passe, respectively, and balances picking up the needle threads in parallel over the table, a stationary plate 40 having the first thread-passing holes 48 which permit the needle threads after passing individual balances to pass through bored in the same number as the needle number and a slidable plate 50 having the second thread-passing holes 52 corresponding to the first holes bored are arranged so that the first holes and the second holes oppose to each other to permit each needle thread to pass through, when each head works for embroidering. In the meantime, when each head is at rest, the slidable plate 50 is made slide in the longitudinal direction to displace the second holes from the first holes so the needle threads may be held between these plates and thus locked.
