Abstract:
To provide a negative electrode active material capable of increasing battery capacity with an improvement of initial efficiency and achieving sufficient battery cycle characteristics.SOLUTION: The negative-electrode active material includes negative-electrode active material particles. The negative electrode active material particles contain silicon oxide particles coated with a carbon layer. The silicon oxide particles have Li2SiO3 and have the strongest peak A near 102 eV in an Si2p spectrum acquired by an XPS analysis. The silicon oxide particles have the second strongest peak B near 100 eV, which corresponds to low-valence Si compounds with valence between 1 and 3. The intensity of Si:0 valence peak C acquired near 99 eV is less than half of the intensity of peak A.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
