Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode for lithium ion secondary battery capable of maintaining a high discharge capacity even after repetition of charge and discharge, when a silicon-based active material is used.SOLUTION: A negative electrode for lithium ion secondary battery including an active material layer composed of a particulate active material and a binder has following characteristics 1)-3). 1) Discharge capacity of first cycle is 1000 mAh or more per 1 g of negative electrode, when performing charge and discharge with a current density of active material layer of 50 mA/g. 2) Coulomb efficiency of the first cycle is 80% or more. 3) The ratio of fifth cycle discharge capacity to the first cycle discharge capacity is 90% or more.
