To improve coating performance, paint film adhesion and discharge capacity even when natural graphite is used by including an acrylic acid polymer cross-linked by polyalkenyl polyether in a binding agent.
An acrylic acid polymer cross-linked by polyalkenyl polyether is 450,000 to 4,000,000 in the molecular weight, and the content in a negative electrode paint film is desirably 0.1 to 15.2 wt.%. A binding agent can include a cellulose material compatible with an organic solvent such as hydroxyethyl cellulose and a copolymer emulsion material compatible with water such as an acrylic-styrene copolymer emulsion as a component jointly used with this acrylic acid polymer. A required process is to set the blending composition ratio of the acrylic acid polymer in the binding agent to 5 to 95 wt.%. The content in the negative electrode paint film is desirably set to 2 to 16 wt.%.
